Teaching Online Marketers How To Create A Dream Lifestyle

When Things Don’t Go Right, Go Left

When Things Don't Go Right Go Left. Just recently, I went through an amazing transformation.

This story is not all about me, it's about you. So, bear with me.

It kind of started just before Christmas of 2016. I felt stuck. I was becoming more and more uninterested in what I was doing. Up until then I had done very well being an online marketer, I had done very well in a network marketing company I was in for three years.. BUT.. I was CRAZY bored.

I was starting to realise that I did not have the passion for the work I was doing anymore. I quit making videos, virtually stopped blogging and went into a 3 month downward Spiral.. a FUNK!..

I just could not work. Every time I went to blog, I couldn't find the words. I could not muster up the enthusiasm to make videos or create sales funnels.  I felt like I had just sunk.. into a big back hole.

go leftI felt like the Internet had chewed me up and spat me out…

I've seen other online colleagues of mine get “burnt out” … I think if you keep doing the same old things over and over, you are going to get bored eventually.

I'd been online as an active marketer since 2010, pretty much doing the same thing..

I needed a change. I needed to get off the same old track. .

Human beings are creatures designed to move forward. The trouble is, we often get stuck and stay stuck for months, years even.

Three months later, I mapped out a new path. I created a new plan. I wrote down all the things I'm good at, then wrote down the things I like doing, this got me to think in the direction of things I could do, that I liked doing. It sounds simple when you map it all out…

And it is.. if you ever find yourself in the same situation, do exactly the same.

Take yourself out of the equation for a while. Spend less time in front of the computer and more time, quiet time even, meditating.. those spare moments should be spent with a pen and pad in hand. Just relax and let the feelings flow, let the words come, and write..

Plan your next step, and then the next.. then put it into action.

This is what I did. I must have unclogged a huge blockage in my brain, because it felt like a weight had been lifted off my mind..

Here's what I found…

1).  I believe within every person, there is a book, or a product of some sort waiting to come out. No matter how much you keep telling yourself you can't do something, you actually can. You can do something… you are a human being, a person with thoughts, ideas, ideas where people would love to learn from you… yes, YOU!..

We often kid ourselves out of doing something because we don't want to fail. Failure upsets us.. and we don't want to feel upset. Our confidence level may not be where we want it to be and it's a lot safer to just stay as we are..

The problem lies where we want more but want to stay as we are. We will always be in conflict with ourselves whilst we allow this to happen. In order to get more, we have to be more, when we become more, our confidence grows to become even more..

2).  Uh Oh… I'm going to dispel some myths here… in an online business,  in order to be successful in the long term, you are either going to have to be a great prospector, and continually recruit new members every week into your business, or a master Affiliate that can win competitions online and constantly get on the leaderboards, or you are going to be a product creator.

If you are considering doing anything less, the chances are it will be short lived and you will end up spending more than you make… Let me explain…

The fact that 97% fail online is not a mystery.

It's actually pretty obvious to be honest. Most people approach the world of making money online, rather like a lottery. People are running around like ants waiting to be squashed, they crave the next “big thing”, consume that for a few weeks,  then off they go again with a new “next big thing”..

There are so many schemes out there, you could join a different one every day… and most are gone within a few weeks or months..

The Fake Coach

There are hundreds of thousands of people online faking themselves off as marketing coaches. Many of these people are simply reps posing as coaches. The problem is, they are teaching people to do what they do.. which is how to NOT make money.  The Internet is awash with broke people telling people how to get rich.

This is NOT their fault. People model people who model people who do this…. SO, what's the answer?

Step 1. Get a reality checkup from the neck up. If you keep doing the same things over and over that keep you broke now, the chances are you'll learn how to be even more broke..

Step 2. The crowd are nearly always wrong. If everyone is doing it, the chances are no one (or very few) are doing any good at it. It's only a very small percentage of people who do anything worth documenting. The “Make Money” niche especially, is full of people all doing the same thing..

All saying the same thing, posting the same schemes in to Facebook groups… I know, because I used to do this.

Ask yourself these questions..

  1. What are you doing to stand out on the Internet?
  2. Are you building a company that you own, or are you an agent for someone else? Are you actually building a tangible business. Something that you could sell one day?
  3. Are any of the products you sell, your own or are they all someone else's?

Anyway, back to my story.. .Here's what I decided to do:

I decided to clear my mind of any negativity and decided to create products. I created two in the Internet Marketing space and I created one for the Horse Racing market. I was doing something different, the words started flowing again.

You are not the company you sell products for. You are a creative being. You have the ability to learn and teach what you learn to others.. and if you intend to stick around on the Internet, I would go that route.. create your own space..

The next thing I did was I created two new blogs. One is in the health and beauty space (seriously, I knew nothing about health and beauty until I decided to do this, and the other is in the Horse Racing space. I've monetised both with affiliate products.

My next project is going to be Travel..

Even though I learned to do Internet Marketing, Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and any other marketing…it doesn't mean you have to stick at selling the same old “make money” products…

My point here is what do you know, that you can monetise?. Can you build a blog?, NO?, there are tons of videos online that can show you how. Build a blog around your passion, monetise it with affiliate products (or your own) and then learn how to drive traffic to them .

There you have a tangible business that you can build up and maybe even sell in the future.

The next time you get in a Funk!.. it might just be because you are NOT doing the REAL thing you want to do. Think about what you are good at, or could be good at, create a product or build a blog around it, and sell it over and over to others..

I hope you got some value from this post. If you did, please share, and do leave a comment below. Thanks in advance.

Peace and prosperity always

P.S BORED With selling the same old, same old.. try this..

  1. Business is hard work! when I hear people telling someone that is easy and they don’t have to sell or talk to people it makes me cringe… keep pushing… the flat times in our business are when we catch our breathe and come up kicking

  2. There are so many doing the “Make Quick Money” market & you’re right Keith they are gone with the next rain.

  4. Thank you for sharing your story of getting out of the stinkin’ thinkin….

The big takeaway was writing things down….

When you write it down it helps you clarify and get excited again about where you want to go and what you want to do

Absolutely Lisa, it is so important to plan on paper, it seems to bring about a better realisation, and the knowledge of what to do seems to appear more quickly than if we just commit to memory or type it on our computer.

  5. That happens to all. There are times we feel lazy and unproductive. We don’t feel like we want to continue. But after a while, we get back and work again. I did experience that and I’m happy I’m still here.

  6. Nice post Keith. Its true we are human beings and we can not work like machines all the time. we need a break from our routine life and must spend sometime relaxing and meditating. It is important for everyone of us. Your story is quite similar to mine. Thank you for sharing such valuable post.

  7. [ Smiles ] I liked the part about the fake coach.

    Good advice as always!

  8. Brilliant! “Taking yourself out of the equation” is definitely a great way of “decluttering” one’s mind, quieten the internal noise and give space to those creative juices to start flowing again! Loving this!

  9. Hi Keith,

Totally agree with you about people always looking for the easy and quick short cuts to success. They usually end up buying one shiny object after another, only to realize that it doesn’t work.

Growing a business is hard work and it takes consistency and dedication to make it work.

One of the best things I do for my business everyday is step away from it and give myself some quiet time. I think it’s extremely important and has definitely helped me get clearer and more productive.

Thanks for sharing and here’s to much success with your 2 new blogs you started.

    Have a great day 🙂

    Susan
