The POWER of The “F” Word In Your Business

Yes, it's true. This is an extremely powerful “F” word.  I'm talking about Focus. Look at this:

“He who is everywhere is nowhere – Seneca”

When people get “overwhelmed” in a business, it tends to be because they are not focused, have no plan and are just taking “pot shots” to see what sticks. Sad but true, but this is what a lot of people do. This needn't be you.

It's very hard in this information driven world to get anyone to focus on anything longer than a few seconds, let alone minutes. The problem being, everyone wants the results now but very few have any real plan to obtain them. It starts with focusing on one strategy then move on to “commitment”. in other words, keep repeating the strategy until you get a breakthrough.

Now obviously you have to on the right path in the first place to get the breakthrough. What is your mentor doing that works… (note) I say doing rather than “saying”.. many people on the Internet give lip service to many things but few, DO.

Be committed to learning one strategy at a time. 

Let's be honest with ourselves here, you're probably not where you want to be in your business at this moment in time and you might possibly have been blaming your sponsor, your company or your products, but deep down, you know it's you.

It is a business after all and even if your sponsor has gone into the witness protection problem, there are always groups of people in that company you can friend up and get help from, but at the end of the day it is your business and you need to instigate the steps to get leads and sales. There is plenty of information available on the Internet to do this.

People are renowned for starting new things before they finish anything, joining new companies before they have had success in the last one and are picking and pecking at everything hoping to get a result. Even desperate to get a result in some cases.

Let me give you an honest piece of advice here. 

If you are modelling a successful person, someone who you want to be like. I'm pretty damn sure you are not modelling someone who is unfocussed. Why?. because people who are unfocussed never get rich unless they win the lottery!… And even then they are probably so unfocussed, they only buy the ticket every other week, and it wins with your numbers, the very week you forgot to buy it.

Focus, really is EVERYTHING!…

If you don't focus on your Marriage, pretty soon you're going to be single. Your business is the same, it's like a marriage. If you don't concentrate on building relationships with people, if you don't concentrate on delivering value to people, pretty soon it's going to go belly up.

Build a good solid, secure foundation to your business by learning, then implementing one thing at a time. Don't try to learn everything at once, it's better to be good at one thing than it is to be mediocre at several things.

Let's take an online Network Marketing business for instance.

We really only need two main things here to make sales. Traffic and conversions. People tend to learn a traffic strategy but because they don't see immediate results, they start learning another, then another, and so on. Get good at one strategy first, implement it for a period of time then once you master it, get good at another.

Most people coming online to make money are very impatient. Some spent years learning a trade or craft yet want to learn online marketing in a week or two. This is not realistic.

I spent my first year in online marketing with a grand total of $16 in Sales. Mainly because I couldn't focus on any one thing. I just followed the other unfocused people online in watching multiple webinars, watching videos and learning anything and everything I could, but applying very little.

Remember this quote:

“It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you”

It doesn't matter how many webinars you listen too or how many books you read, if you don't get started, nothing happens..

Decide to be focused on one aspect of your business at a time. Remember that human beings complicate even the simplest of things. Your online business needs sales, you get sales by getting prospects (leads), you get leads by using a method, free or paid to get traffic. Learn to give people some value first before asking for the order. Learn how to get targeted traffic, don't send people to your offer who won't be interested, and never spam people… first impressions count.
