How to get good luck. Would you consider yourself a “Lucky” or “Unlucky” person?. My mission, here in this post is to show you how you can be more lucky than unlucky 365 days a year. I am also going to show you how to create your very own “lucky streaks” so stay tuned.
Watch this video first to get the general idea
Luck is often described as something that happens to us. In effect luck is something we create. No one was born “Lucky” or “Unlucky”. It’s merely a term we put to something we believe. If we see a person always winning at life, some may label that person as “Lucky”, if we see a person who appears to have nothing but ” Bad Luck”, we quite naturally label that person as “Unlucky”..
The truth is we are actually responsible for about 95% of what happens to us.
Walking out of your house and being hit by a skidding car mounting the sidewalk, is not your “bad luck” coming into play, it is simply bad timing on your part. Being mugged on the way home from work is not “bad luck”, it is simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
If you had left work 10 minutes later, you may not have been mugged. The “bad luck” would probably have been passed on to some other unfortunate person who was simply there at the “wrong time”.
Good fortune arrives through consistent good thoughts that lead to better decisions. Bad luck arrives through consistent bad thoughts, that lead to bad decisions. Let me explain.
Approximately 5% of what happens to us is out of our control. This is where unavoidable disease (or death) strikes. This is where the Aeroplane we are flying in develops a mid air fault. This is where the bus mounts the pavement (sidewalk) and hits an unsuspecting person.
So approximately 95% of what happens to us is actually under our control. This is where someone dies who could have avoided it. This is where a split with your partner could have been avoided. This where being mugged down a dark alley at night could have been avoided.
Better decisions are preceded by better thoughts.
The power of your thoughts are so great, the medical profession recognise them as mind – body medicine. People can literally make themselves well (or sick) by their thoughts. Those very same powerful thoughts can also create how your life turns out. Often or not, the quality of a person’s life is actually determined by the quality of their thoughts.
“I’m a great believer in luck. I find the harder I work, the more I have of it” – Thomas Jefferson
Thought’s are things. People in general have a strong negative side to their personality. This actually comes from “left brain thinking”. This left side of our brain is our analytical side, and it often stops us from doing something we should do as we often tend to over analyse things if we use this side of our brain too much.
The left side of our brain does help us in situations of “fight or flight” though as it is our survival side. Hence, people tend to “just want to survive” in life. Left brain thinking.
The right side of the brain is a bit more adventurous. This is the artistic and creative side of our personality. This is the more positive side of you. This is the side that is developed more by entrepreneurs, artists, writers etc, etc.
So if luck is really the way we think, put into action, and we can control 95% of what happens to us, why don’t we just learn how to think more with our right brain?.
Most experts will tell you to read good wholesome positive material, listen to quality motivational audios, go to inspirational seminars etc. And all of this is right, however they are leaving out a vital ingredient.
Right brain mind control. I know, it sounds like something out of a science fiction comic. But this is no joke, this flat out works. To increase the use of the right brain, you need to increase the use of the senses. All 5 senses are housed in the right side of the brain.
By focusing on these senses more intently, you increase the power of them. The more you increase the power of them, the more you increase the power of your right brain.
Although humans have many senses, the five most recognised are Sight, Hearing, Touch, Taste & Smell. Increased development of these five senses can and will increase the use of the right brain.
When you use these senses, instead of thinking of other things at the same time, concentrate of the sense you are using and “feel” the picture, the sound, the touch, the taste and the smell. Dwell on the sensory experience rather than just the experience.
Most people know that in the Law of Attraction, results are “amplified” when the senses are involved. In other words, when you imagine the experience you want to bring about, you are far more likely to bring it into being if you are “feeling it” too.
Meditation, visual imagery, imagined sound, imagined taste and smell can speed up it’s inception. “Remember, the thought of your favourite food can be enough to make you want it, using all senses at once, can make you crave it.
To create good luck 95% of the time, I make these recommendations.
- Think positive, create good patterns of thought daily. Listen to empowering audios, read positive books. Stay away from negative people and negative situations.
- Always “expect” to WIN. No one ever did anything great, expecting to lose
- Use all senses to savour the positive learning experiences. You will amplify the experience PLUS you will open up the right brain more, and your thoughts, feelings and life experiences will improve..
I am going to leave you with one more quote about luck, this really does sum it up well.
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” – Seneca
